Our most important role is providing a safe environment on our strip of beach. Our voluntary lifeguard patrols work with the public to prevent injury and drowning and provide treatment if necessary.

Beach Wheelchairs and Access Mat

Did you know we have two beach wheelchairs available to the public based at North Beach Surf Life Saving Club?
We also have a beach access mat that we roll out during patrol hours in the summer.

Weekend voluntary patrol dates and hours are:
8th November 2025 – 15th March 2026: Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 5pm
Show Day, Waitangi Day 11am – 5pm

SLSNZ regional lifeguards patrols: Mid December 2025 – late January 2026: Weekdays 10am – 6pm
